ABOUT THE EVENTS

The San Francisco World Music Festival presents live music of Azerbaijani traditional music in partnership with Stanford University and UC Berkeley.

Music concerts and a workshop introducing The Land of Fire Consorts from Azerbaijan, featuring kamancha master Imamyar Hasanov, tar master Rufat Hasanov and nagara master Elshan Gasimov.

Performing a musical introduction to the microtonal and improvisational tradition of classical Azeri Mugham, they take audiences on a musical tour of Azerbaijani music with repertoire from folk traditions, classical compositions, and the art music mugham.
